AT-95: “ Proud Answer: This is not surprising. This unit was developed here on Taris, and is somewhat…unique. The production was a very limited run and has been in high demand within certain circles. You should consider yourself quite lucky that I was available to be assigned to your ship.”
Marc: “So you’re the new medical droid we’ve been expecting?”
AT-95: “Statement: I have been programmed to operate on your species, yes.”
Marc: “A surgical droid, then.”
AT-95: “Irritated Statement: As I said, master, I am programmed to operate on fleshlings.”
Marc: “Look, just tell me your primary function.”
AT-95: “Conjecture: I was assigned as a medical droid to this vessel by General T’sker. Would it not follow that I am, indeed, a medical droid?”
Marc: “…why do I get the feeling that you’re not telling me everything?”
AT-95: “ Pondering Rhetoric: Why, because I am not, master. To tell you everything would take a great deal of valuable time, and would be far beyond the modest teaching capabilities and patience circuits of this unit. Should you really wish to learn everything, I suggest you seek out the nearest protocol droid and question it; I am sure that it would be more than happy to oblige…”

I know, I know! I should be working on the next pages of Perspectives (and I am, I’ve just hit a plot point that needs work) but after getting the go-ahead from Ari, I simply had to get this character sheet written up. It’s been jittering around my mind like a Mexican jumping bean for a week now and I just had to let it out!

Armament: ‘Surgical’ tools, anesthesia, various chemical compounds, taser. Surgical laser can be upgraded to a weapons mount.
Language chip: Several dozen, including Basic.
Abilities: Healing, Increased Group Awareness (due to infrared sensors), Basic Energy Shield, Critical Shot (due to knowledge of human anatomy), Forensics, and <cough>Torture<coughcough>.
Notes:
- The ‘AT’ (Autopsy/Torture) series was created for Exchange use by a certain unlucky technician (later famed for his work on, and subsequent death regarding, Davik’s legendary powered armor), and employ a series of alloys created and developed specifically by said technician. These alloys are incredibly light, with some flexibility, but extremely durable. The droid frames themselves could probably withstand a nuclear holocaust, if one was not concerned with preserving the delicate instrumentation and circuitry within. However, as the droids were built with rather skeletal frames (to both reduce production costs and provide a more ‘menacing’ bedside manner), they are rather vulnerable if one can devise a way to get past their (rather simple) energy shielding; they were never intended for combat situations.
- The AT units have a high intelligence rating, and are sought after by many within the underworld because of their collective success at extracting information from unwilling targets. However, some have been sold under the guise of a new ‘surgical’ droid to more legitimate business ventures, including the Taris Guard and several hospitals, for their surgical and autopic skills. When Taris became one of the main staging points for the Revanchist armada, all non-essential medical droids (including the AT series) were tracked down and conscripted by the Tarisian Army for use in the war. In what some considered a startling move, Davik did the same within his own spheres of influence, and donated the entire collection of droids to the war effort.
Needless to say, there were several disgruntled crime-lords that disagreed with his decision…
- All AT units carry a small canister of bacta within the chest cavity for field dressings without a medpac. Three ‘ribs’ on either side of chest cavity swing open on hinges: they are storage units with various bladed tools and poiso…ahh, ‘medications.’
- Twin power cores are located in the upper legs, which means that any chemical energy an AT unit ingests will be going ‘straight to her thighs…’
